In support of Hong Kong's goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, companies across the city have formulated and implemented net-zero strategies. Until now, there has been no independent, locally calibrated benchmark to assess the credibility of these efforts.
On 17 July, Green Council will launch the Net Zero Awards for Excellence (NZAfE) 2026 — Hong Kong's pioneering independent awards programme assessing the credibility of corporate net-zero strategies in Hong Kong.
🔹 Sector-specific criteria across five of Hong Kong's key industries
🔹 An independent judging panel drawn from professional services, academia, banking and investor relations
🔹 Open to HKEX-listed companies and any company publishing a standalone ESG or sustainability report
For boards and sustainability teams, participation in the inaugural year offers a distinction available only once: recognition among the first companies in Hong Kong to have their net-zero strategies independently assessed.
The details will be announced at the Launching Ceremony on 17 July.
